An Emergency Travel Certificate is issued to a Ghanaian national, who is not in possession of a Passport and require traveling to Ghana under an emergency situation.
This document is for a single journey to Ghana only and cannot be used for a return journey to Russia and CIS countries and is valid for one month only.
Applicants are required to produce proof of Ghanaian Nationality such as photocopy of passport, original Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate.
Applicants must submit a completed Emergency Travel Certificate application form and four (4) recent passport photographs (not older than 6 months).
Evidence of impending travel is a necessary requirement.

Applicants applying to renounce their Ghanaian citizenship must submit a duly completed Declaration of Renunciation of Citizenship of Ghana Form (available at the Consular Section of the Embassy)
Applicants must also submit the following in addition to the Form:

- The applicant may address a formal letter to the Minister for the Interior through the Embassy.
- The application should be accompanied by detailed Curriculum Vitae of the applicant, clearly stating the name and current address of his/her parents as well as indicating whether he/she is in any way indebted to the Government of Ghana by way of bond, scholarship, etc.
- Evidence of not being indebted to Ghana Government if applicant travelled for further studies abroad under Ghana Government Scholarship
- Two (2) recent passport-size photographs
- Receipts of payments for processing and purchase of form.
- The submitted documents will then be forwarded to the Minister of Interior in Accra for consideration. Upon approval, the Minister of Interior would issue a Renunciation Certificate and forward it to this Embassy for onward delivery to the Applicant

The registration of Ghanaians is encouraged because it, among others:
- Brings the community to the attention of the Embassy
- Ensures easy identification and possible assistance to the Ghanaian
- Enables government to be aware of its citizens abroad and factor it into its development agenda
The registration of Ghanaians is free and can be done during working days from 10hrs to 14hrs. Registration forms can be filled online. Should you download the Registration Form, please complete it and email to consulateghana@mail.ru
Ghanaians who are resident abroad should at the earliest opportunity register their names and addresses at the nearest Diplomatic Mission or Consulate of Ghana. Failure to do so may in a period of emergency result in difficulty or delay in according them the assistance and protection of which they are entitled. Changes of address or departure from the country should also be notified to the Mission or Consulate (Ref: First Page of Ghana Passport) .

The Consular Section is also available to provide assistance in the form of advice to both Ghanaians and non- Ghanaians alike on questions concerning immigration and migration issues on Ghana. Information on specific consular matter can be sent by mail to consulateghana@mail.ru for a response.
Public documents (such as Criminal Check Certificate, Marriage/Divorce Documents, Birth/Death certificates) issued by Ghanaian authorities for use abroad must be:
- Notarized by Notary Public in Ghana
- Certified by Judicial Service of Ghana
- Attested by the Legal and Consular Bureau of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration
- Further attestation by Ghana High Commission in Moscow, Russia. In all cases, photocopies of the applicant`s Ghanaian passport (bio data page) and the resident country visa must be attached to the documents.
- Final attestation must be done at the Consular Department of the Ministry ofForeign Affairs of the resident country.All applicants are to submit the above-mentioned documents to Ghana Consulate- Moscow in person or by post. Application process takes 5 working days from receipt of hard copy of the original documents at the Mission.
Attestation of Bachelor Certificate for Marriage (Requirements)

- Oath sworn by a family member before a Commissioner of Oaths/Public Notary confirming that the applicant is not married;
- Cover letter from the Judiciary Service Accra, Ghana
- Cover letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Accra, Ghana
- Original copies of documents must be presented at the Embassy
- Colored copy of bio data page of applicant’s passport and visa (or passport itself)
Requirements for Authentications

- Cover letter of the issuing Authority or Office in Ghana
